Goddd!! "Prelude" is pissing me the hell off right now. I like the descriptions, the setting, but I detest some of the dialogue. It's really annoying because when I started getting ideas for this fic I was so excited and was almost tempted to start working on it right away and ditch "Waking Will" because the idea was so fresh in my mind. Maybe I should have done that...

Anyhow, there's been nothing but problems since I started writing this piece. Some of the dialogue is great, but the majority of it just doesn't feel in character. Perhaps I'm being paranoid; I don't know. (Or maybe I need to rephrase some of it.) I can't help but panic and I'm going into "I'm my own worst critic" mode. I think I'm going to start on another WxM project, send "Prelude" to Sophie and Runner (?)(do you really want to see it in all of its craptastic glory? =/) receive their feedback/help, and then get back to it and revise once I'm done with the other project.

EDIT: Ahaha, guys... This journal was me having a writing related freak out. Runner read "Prelude" and told me it was fine. Whenever I read through the so-called "trouble" spots it's obvious that she's right. So just pardon my silliness. I have a valid excuse for my behavior that shall not be mentioned. XP

Oh, and I'm not going to be sticking to the July 25th deadline. The point of "The List" was to get some necessary pieces done and have fun in the process of writing them. Setting a deadline for myself eliminates the fun factor completely and puts me under a lot of pressure. I do plan on getting all of them done on my own time and in between stories I'll do some of the writing exercises. I'd really hate not to follow through with my word to Helen.

EDIT #2: Don't kill me, guys, but I didn't get to finish "Prelude" tonight like I was hoping to. It was because I was responding to comments. I didn't think that was gonna be a problem and was prepared to stay up 'til four if I had to in order to get it done, but then I sunk into complete exhaustion about twenty minutes ago. Besides, I shouldn't write when I'm dead tired or else the content won't be up to par. I'll finish it later today (since it's already tomorrow), I promise, promise, uber promise! -collapses from exhaustion-
